Sequences — when the lim inf⁡\liminf/lim sup⁡\limsup chain is not strict

For any two sequences {xn}\{x_n\} and {yn}\{y_n\} it is known that

lim inf⁡xn+lim inf⁡yn≤lim inf⁡(xn+yn)≤lim sup⁡(xn+yn)≤lim sup⁡xn+lim sup⁡yn.\liminf x_n+\liminf y_n \le \liminf (x_n+y_n) \le \limsup (x_n+y_n) \le \limsup x_n+\limsup y_n.

Suppose xn=0x_n=0 for nn even and xn=1x_n=1 for nn odd, and yn=1−xny_n=1-x_n for all n≥1n\ge1. Which statements are true?

S1S_1: strict inequalities hold in (∗)(*) above.
S2S_2: {xn+yn}\{x_n+y_n\} converges, while {xn}\{x_n\} and {yn}\{y_n\} do not.
